Inspired by the author's experience of adopting a Guatemalan baby, this is the story of how a married couple eagerly prepares for the adoption of a child. Once the baby is born, the couple travels a great distance to meet their new daughter. Then they bring her back to their home, where she is enthusiastically welcomed by her new family. Collage, gouache, and colored pencil illustrations accompany the text.
