Director Juan Antonio de la Riva tells a story, in a magical realist style, of Juanito and his mother Hilaria, residents of the simple Mexican town of Santa Cruz de la Montana. When Juanito starts showing extra sensory powers, the people of the town begin to act suspicious, and things quickly begin to get out of her control. Only with the love and support of her new love, Albino, the town chief, can Hilaria hope to see her way through this difficult time.
